There is a Critical Mass bicycle ride against Scott Walker’s anti-bicycle agenda meeting at UW-Milwaukee next Thursday, May 5th. One of the main issues is the inclusion of a bicycle and pedestrian path on the Hoan Bridge, something Walker is against, during it’s upcoming three-year, $300-million retrofit. Take a look at bikethehoan.com, a citizens’ petition to walk or bike the Hoan Bridge.
“Come out to support bicyclists’ rights by taking over the streets of Milwaukee! A critical mass involves a large group of cyclists riding through the streets, often slowing down traffic, in support of many different causes.
We would like to bring awareness of how Walker’s budget will affect bicycling, our public schools, and our campus, so bring signs that can be attached to your backs or decorate your bike.
Bring your bike, your friends, and please bring your helmet.”
