ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE GROUP BIKE RIDE
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26th 2012
The 3rd Annual Zombie Apocalypse Group Bike Ride is on Friday, October 26th.
The ride meets at Gordon Park, located on the corner Locust and Humboldt. We’ll all be meeting at 7pm at the shelter on the northeast corner of the park, and leaving soon after. If you would like a spokecard or pin(s) from the ride, we’re asking for a suggested $1-2 donation. There will be a route planned out like usual, so please help keep the group together. There will be a planned outdoor stop mid-way through the ride to catch a breath and eat some flesh.
Pabst Blue Ribbon & Do414 welcome us for the Afterparty at Stonefly, located right at 735 E. Center Street in the heart of Riverwest. We’re excited to welcome Dead Man’s Carnival, Milwaukee’s infamous circus/vaudville/theatre group to entertain us for the night. They’ll be closing out the night, performing alongside Hewn, a high percussive, seven-piece experimental blues/gypsy rock band from Madison, Sir Pinkerton & The Magnificients, and Animals In Human Attire. $5 at the door, don’t forget to bring your ID (21+).
There will also be live painting and artwork from local artists, along with a silent art auction hosted by Milwaukee Odyssey. Video Villains will be doing interactive visuals and projections all night as well.
Ian’s Pizza will be selling some cheap, delicious slices at Stonefly for the afterparty, making sure that all the performers and zombies are fed. There will be options for vegetarians and vegans as well.
If this is your first group ride, or even if you’ve been to a bunch in the past, please read this. This is a safe and fun ride for everyone involved, so let’s keep it that way.
We’re looking for some ride “ambassadors” to help throughout the ride. You’ll be able to enjoy yourselves just like everyone else, but will be familiar with the route and help communicate different things to keep everyone safe. Flats and mechanical problems are bound to happen to a few, so we’ll also have ride support along to help anyone that might run into such problems and get you caught back up with the rest of the group. If you’re interested in helping, simply get in touch.
Please ride safely and be respectful of others around you. We will be riding at a group pace, and following the rules of the road (i.e. staying in our lane, stopping at red lights, etc.). Remember to bring your bike lights!
